THE History: The businesses began in 1907 were the first cannon textile mill was located. It was a emerging commercial center by 1910 it became the towns center of activity were community celebrations and parades were held. The building at the square town businesses sold furniture, coffins, and general merchandise.  Churches were built, the post office and a bank were build in the village area.
